Class 00 & Class 0 RIGs Shelf Life and In Service Guidelines

Key Points:

  • Ansell ACTIVARMR Rubber Insulating Gloves in Class 0 and 00 comply with AS/NZS IEC 60903
  • Class 00 are rated for use up to 500v and Class 0 are rated for use up to 1000v
  • Balmoral Engineering will simplify the compliance requirements for both end users and distributors by providing technical support and an in-house testing laboratory
  • No gloves should be issued for service if their “RETEST” date has lapsed (refer Fig 1)
  • Because Balmoral carries large stock holdings to better support its customers, it will also re-test gloves where this “RETEST” date has lapsed
  • When Balmoral re-tests the gloves, it stamps the gloves and both boxes with a “TESTED” date.
  • No gloves should be issued for service unless they are within 12 months from the “TESTED” date (refer Fig 2 & 2)
  • Once gloves are issued into the field, they have a 6 months service life
  • It is up to the customer to monitor when the 6 months service life will lapse
